Cantata Singers Season Opening Concert featuring works by Bach and Harbison
Michael will be performing the tenor recitative in J.S. Bach’s BWV 140 “Sleepers, awake”
The second half of the concert will be the first complete performance of John Harbison’s Sacred Trilogy (“The Flight Into Egypt”, “But Mary Stood” and “The Supper at Emmaus.”) These works are presented in celebration of Harbison’s 80th birthday. All three works commissioned by and composed for the Cantata Singers- so this should be a real treat!
